(FILA North America) – November 16, 2021 – Rowing Blazers and FILA debut their latest collaboration, a continuation of the ski-inspired designs launched together last year. The new Rowing Blazers x FILA collection features a palette of vibrant colors and graphic patterns that capture the bold aesthetic of FILA’s original “Magic Line,” with a present-day refresh.

Rowing Blazers x FILA pays homage to FILA’s history in winter sports and Reinhold Messner, one of the greatest mountaineers of all-time. In 1979, FILA outfitted Messner on his record-breaking ascent of K2, a feat he accomplished without supplemental oxygen. He dubbed his route the "Magic Line," as it was marked by some of the mountain’s steepest and most technical climbing. Inspired by his legendary triumph, FILA first launched its “Magic Line” collection in 1988. It was a perfect combination of comfort, technology and style, and filled with exclusive and original patterns.

The 13-piece Rowing Blazers x FILA collection consists of ski jackets, rugby shirts, classic tees, a puffer vest, a fleece pullover, joggers, and accessories including a fanny pack and a beanie. Pieces are offered in electric blue, yellow, pink and teal hues, with Rowing Blazers written in italics across the FILA logo, a design element that mimics FILA’s original “Magic Line” branding. The matching polar fleece pullover, joggers, fanny pack, and beanie were created in a colorful and eye-catching all-over print, pulled from FILA’s archival collection. Additional details include a dual-branded,
embroidered logo as well as subtle nods to the Rowing Blazers’ zig-zag pattern, as seen on the ski jackets.

(FILA North America) – November 12, 2021 – FILA and KROST have teamed up for a second collaboration featuring the FILA Renno, a silhouette that first debuted in February '21. The iconic sportstyle brand and NY-based streetwear label are revealing another limited-edition design, now in an updated colorway.

The KROST x FILA Renno is a modern chunky style that stays true to the design aesthetics of both brands. This next iteration was further inspired by the color story, intricate embroidery and signature top stitch detailing as seen in the KROST Fall/Winter mainline collection, while combining nods from FILA’s past and present performance history.

Designed in versatile black/white/navy hues with tonal white stitching, the unisex sneaker was crafted in mixed materials of nylon, leather and suede, fusing comfort with style. The KROST "Support Your Friends" moniker is featured throughout the footwear design in addition to KROST and FILA logo treatments. The sneaker is anchored by FILA’s Energized midsole cushioning for added comfort, and completed with a mesh-covered midsole.

Given that sportstyle is deeply rooted within both brands’ identities, it was important for the collaboration to contribute to the equal opportunity sports initiative in our community. The non-profit organization, Good Sports works to “give all kids the lifelong benefits of sport and physical activity by providing equipment, apparel and footwear to those most in need.” 10% of every purchase from the KROST x FILA Renno will be donated to Good Sport in our effort to help support the millions of kids across America that do not have access to sporting gear and equipment.

FILA Unveils “Falling in Love Again” Campaign Written and Di

(FILA NORTH AMERICA – November 4, 2021) – FILA continues to commemorate its 110th Anniversary with the launch of “Falling In Love Again.” The campaign is a celebration of the brand, its ongoing legacy in sport and style, and its defining moments in pop culture and beyond.

The witty short film, written and directed by world renowned photographer Mark Seliger, features Luke Wilson as the fictional Professor Jean-Pierre Montague, Angus Cloud as his protégé Victor and Adesuwa Aighewi as Stella. A former tennis champion and FILA ambassador who reminisces about his love of adventure and his passion for the FILA brand, the Professor is obsessed with what he has coined emotional color theory, as discussed in his book, “The Dress Code of Human Nature,” which he penned after being banned from the pro tennis circuit.

A romantic at heart, Montague liked to believe that FILA stood for “Falling in Love Again,” a concept he shares with the young apprentices who participate in his studies and listen to his stories. Within the film, he is shown teaching his life’s work and the book’s contents to Victor and Stella. As he enlightens them with his color theory, the Professor shares how style has always been important to him, especially during his travels.

“The film was built out of an impromptu writing session between Luke and myself,” said Seliger. “This was the first time I had the experience of working with an artist in that way. FILA gave me the reins to come up with something that spoke to the brand being iconic, while at the same time, offering a comedic wink to Luke, his incredible career, and all of the memorable roles he's played over the years. Angus is such a dynamic performer and able to elicit such emotion onscreen that I knew he and Adesuwa would serve as the perfect counterparts to bring this concept to life.”

Seliger continued: “What I love about FILA is its heritage, which is elegant, elevated and timeless. ‘Falling in Love Again’ is also a nod to the brand’s Italian roots, and associating Italy with love, incredible passion, desire, and appreciation. FILA continues to reinvent itself, even 110 years later, while staying true to those qualities.”

Within the film, the eccentric cast of characters are dressed in both archival FILA styles and the brand’s newly unveiled, special-edition 110th Anniversary Collection. 

“Falling in Love Again” will launch on November 4, and will be featured in print and digital elements including outdoor and subway signage, digital banners, and social media promotion.

(FILA North America) – November 2, 2021 – FILA has partnered with NYC-based creator, Tashawn “Whaffle” Davis, to launch a unisex capsule collection, exclusively for Urban Outfitters.

Whaffle is an emerging streetwear designer, painter, and illustrator, known for his love of 1970’s fashion and culture, from his personal style to his apartment decor. The FILA x Whaffle capsule reflects his innovative appreciation of 1970’s styles, and takes cues from the brand’s F-Box collection of the same era.

The 8-piece FILA x Whaffle range consists of two tracksuits, two pairs of shorts, a ringer tee, and a crossbody bag. The color palette and silhouettes are a reflection of the time, with a focus on orange, yellow, brown, and forest green tones. Classic pieces are reimagined with a 1970’s flair, such as tracksuits with collared jackets and white leg bottoms; shorts with snap front and striped waistbands; and a square shoulder bag that ties everything together. All pieces feature a dual-branded FILA and Whaffle embroidered logo.

“I wanted to bring back the confidence of the era,” said Davis. “Orange and yellow are my favorite colors and it’s a very common color scheme from the 70’s. For me personally, it reminds me of the warmth of the morning, sunshine and waffles. I wanted to partner with FILA to bring back some of their classic styles and offer a present day update.”

Whaffle art directed and is featured in a corresponding campaign that was inspired by capturing a moment of timeless fashion while celebrating the success of three characters.The photoshoot location, a newly reopened hotel in New York, was selected as it maintains its original charm, and embodies the architecture and design of the golden era of airline travel. The characters are seen as joyful and upbeat, hanging out in a private terminal and departing from a private jet. The photography was taken by André Uncut and features models Whaffle, Sola Eclipse, and Angelica Chaudry.

(FILA North America) - October 29, 2021 - FILA celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Grant Hill 2, one of the most iconic signature basketball silhouettes, with a special-edition style. This release honors the brand's long-standing relationship with Hill, who began his professional career with FILA and became a lifetime ambassador for the brand in 2018.

The Grant Hill 2 is among FILA’s most coveted and recognizable sneakers. It was the second in a series of performance basketball shoes developed for Hill in the 90’s, and it is still popular today for its bold graphic design and innovative material usage.

Offered in both men’s and kid’s sizing, the new Grant Hill 2 25th Anniversary was created in two original colorways, black and white/navy, and is constructed out of premium materials. Design details mimic the original release, with personal touches such as Hill’s embossed signature on the
quarter, and embroidered logos on the tongue, quarter and heel. The 25th Anniversary branding appears throughout, as the number can be seen on the heel, sock liner, sidewall and outsole, where it is featured beneath an ice insert.

The Grant Hill 2 25th Anniversary apparel consists of tees, hoodies, pants, in a color palette of black, white, navy, and red. The apparel features Hill’s signature on the front of the tees and hoodies, and above the left knee on the pants. Hill’s outline is featured on the back of the hoodies. Additional details include the 25th anniversary and Grant Hill logos throughout.
