(FILA GLOBAL) - FILA tennis athlete Karolina Pliskova has qualified for the WTA Finals, to be held at the Singapore Sports Hub from October 22-29, 2017. This marks her second consecutive trip to the WTA Finals, as she qualified in both singles and doubles in 2016.
Pliskova’s dominant play throughout the year helped her to secure a spot in this year’s singles field. She is capping off a successful 2017 season, highlighted by three WTA Titles at the Brisbane International, Qatar Open and Eastbourne International. Additionally, Pliskova reached the quarterfinal round at the 2017 Australian Open and US Open, as well as the semifinal round at the French Open and the BNP Paribas Open. This season, she also reached a career high-ranking of #1 on the WTA Tour.
Pliskova will be outfitted in the new Game Day collection when play begins in Singapore. Seasonal runway cues and signature FILA design elements collide in this fashion-minded line. FILA’s iconic 70’s pinstripe is reinterpreted in a fresh new way, appearing with a palette of heather grey, white, and furo coral. Colorblocking throughout the collection creates flattering silhouettes, while providing a modernized effect.
The Game Day range consists of four silhouettes of tops, including two skorts, a dress, a half-zip top, a jacket, and a jogger. The featured styles set to debut on Pliskova will include the Game Day Racer Back Tank with color blocking, the brand’s iconic pinstripes and ruching at the front neckline. The top will be paired with the Game Day Skort. This bold, furo coral skort was created with a contrast color waistband in charcoal, as well as a pleated center back panel. The Game Day Half-Zip Top and matching Game Day Jogger feature design details like contrast color sleeves, color block details and striped rib cuffs. Also among Pliskova's featured fashions is Game Day’s reimagined Settanta Jacket, a statement style in a special printed jersey fabric.
The Game Day collection will be available beginning in November on FILA.com
and at tennis specialty retailers in the United States and Canada.
