- FILA sponsored tennis player John Isner captured his fourth-career Hall of Fame Open title in Newport, RI after defeating Alexander Bublik 7-6(2), 6-3. The title is Isner’s 15th career singles triumph and first of 2019.
Playing in just his second tournament since April, Isner battled his way through three-consecutive three-set marathon matches to reach the final, firing off an impressive 64 aces in victories over Kamil Majchrzak, Matt Ebden and Ugo Humbert. The World No. 15 would add five more aces en route to closing out Bublik in the final.
At the Croatia Open, FILA sponsored tennis player Dusan Lajovic capped off a terrific week by securing his maiden ATP Tour-level title Sunday, defeating Attila Balazs 7-5, 7-5. Lajovic knocked off challengers Andrey Rublev, Aljaz Bedene and Salvatore Caruso en route to the final.
The title adds to an already career-best year for Lajovic, in which he made his first Tour-level final (Monte Carlo) and has reached a career-high ranking of No. 23.
