FILA North America Recieves Two Nominations For The 8th Annual Shorty Awards
(North America) -- For the greater part of the last ten years, the Shorty Awards has established itself as the first awards to honor social media as a whole. However, as quick as the world of social continues to change, the awards themselves are constantly evolving along with the medium. Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat, and Vine continue to help brands grow and reach fans and consumers at the click of a button. It's a terrific Awards show but don't take our word for it, give a glance at past winners including Taylor Swift, Tyler Oakley, Hannibal Buress, Malala Yousafzai, Jenna Marbles, Susan Orlean, PewDiePie, Alton Brown, Smosh and NASA.
Enter FILA North America in 2016, receiving two nominations in highly competitive categories:
BEST INFLUENCER AND CELEBRITY CAMPAIGN - This award honors the best integration of an influencer, celebrity or ambassador as part of a social media marketing campaign. Integrations may include social profile takeovers, live hangouts, Twitter chats and viral video marketing campaigns among others.
BEST PHOTOGRAPHY AND GRAPHICS - This award honors a social media campaign or overall social presence for exceptional use of photography or graphics. Visuals used in posts, to enhance social profiles, and as part of integrated campaigns are eligible. Creative integrity, strategic integration, sharability, and effectiveness will be considered.
The #OppRUNtunity initiative with Kohl's, Shaun T and FILA was an activation designed to connect with consumers and encourage them to take their first – or hundredth – step forward on their fitness journey, through simple changes in their everyday activities.Beginning with a social media sweepstakes, participants were chosen to add steps to their day by parking far away from the Kohl's store entrance, and engaging in a one-on-one workout with Shaun T, fitness expert, and creator of best-selling workout programs like INSANITY and Focus T25. Shaun T is also the exclusive face of FILA Training Footwear at Kohl's and the winners were provided with the Shaun T FILA Training footwear for their workout. They shared their experiences through their own social media channels, including on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #OppRUNtunity. Once they were on the road to healthy lifestyle changes, #OppRUNtunity drove home the importance of helping others reach that point as well.
The #OppRUNtunity events took place at Kohl's Desert Ridge in Arizona, and Kohl's Coconut Creek in Florida. The events were followed by a multi-faceted social media campaign, launched in August, to coincide with the Kohl's back-to-school season. Additionally, the #OppRUNtunity video created for Facebook has garnered more than 600k views to-date.Shaun T's signature FILA Training Footwear debuted in July, with select styles available at Kohl's stores nationwide and Kohls.com.

In 2015, FILA needed to step out to stand out, both figuratively and literally. With the retro footwear trend continuing to grow, the appeal for the heritage category of footwear has skyrocketed. Our goal was to increase the number of followers, while presenting FILA as a modern brand in a fresh twist for the consumer seeking retro-inspired styles.
