(FILA Global) – De Rigo, one of the world’s leading eyewear companies, and FILA Luxembourg S.àr.l. owner of the FILA® brand Globally, announce the renewal of the licence agreement for the design, production and distribution of FILA® branded eyewear frames and sunglasses in EMEA, the Americas, Australia, and New Zealand.
The collaboration between the two companies, which began in 1996, has now been extended to 2023. With double digit growth in turnover in 2016 and a positive start to 2017, FILA® branded eyewear plays an important role in De Rigo’s brand portfolio.
The key to the brand’s success is its positioning as a designer product in a well-defined market segment. The license agreement will enable both companies to focus on the shared values of product quality and performance, characterised by FILA’s Italian heritage and iconic style.
“The renewal of the license agreement with FILA represents the consolidation of a mutually satisfying relationship that goes back over 20 years and, even more importantly, lays the foundations for the increasingly effective development of the brand’s authority also in the sports and street eyewear segment,” comments Michele Aracri, CEO of De Rigo Vision. “FILA produces sportswear that corresponds with the athletic image of the champions that wear it. But that’s not all. Thanks to a product range attentive to the latest fashion trends, it is able to capitalise on the athleisure trend, which continues to be very popular with consumers”.
“We are proud to extend our longtime partnership with De Rigo,” said Gene Yoon, Global Chairman at FILA. “The collaboration has been important in strengthening our growth potential in the eyewear market. With FILA’s iconic sportstyle influence and De Rigo’s expertise, we will continue to develop collections of the highest aesthetic and quality.”
The FILA Eyewear range includes a wide variety of models to satisfy a diverse audience. The offerings include glasses that are versatile enough for sport and free time, each with their own distinctive qualities. Innovation and comfort are key; the eyewear is always in line with the latest fashions, and rooted in the brand’s DNA.
The FILA Eyewear collections are distributed through the sales network of De Rigo Vision, which includes the most prestigious optical stores and department stores in the world.
