FILA and Barneys New York Launch Women s Capsule Collection
(FILA USA) - FILA and Barneys New York are continuing their partnership for a second season, with new and exclusive FILA XO Barneys New York women's and men's capsule collections. The products were first released as part of thedropLA@barneys, at the retailer’s Beverly Hills, CA flagship on June 2-3.
 
WOMEN'S
 
The new women’s offerings include FILA’s Disruptor 2, one of the brand’s most sought out silhouettes, updated for the Barneys New York shopper. The footwear was designed in a neutral gardenia shade, with bold pops of color in navy, red, citrus, and vista blue hues. The FILA XO Barneys New York Disruptor 2 was also created in black and white, with the same colorful logo treatments. Each style includes the shoe’s signature sawtooth rubber outsole and a molded EVA sockliner. To further fuse both brands, the Disruptor 2 includes an “X” embroidered pull tab on the left shoe and an “O” embroidered pull tab on the right shoe. FILA's signature logo appears on the shoe's tongue, quarter, midsole, and back counter, while FILA XO Barneys New York branding decorates the footbed.
 
Also among the new offerings is the FILA XO Barneys New York Disruptor Sandal, a seasonal style featuring the signature sawtooth bottom. Design elements echo the Disruptor 2, with its gardenia or black hues and bright accents of color on the shoe’s velcro straps and on the FILA logo that appears on the back heel. The Disruptor 2 retails for $120 and the Disruptor Sandal retails for $80. The footwear is available in select Barneys New York stores and at www.barneys.com.
 
In addition, a selection of apparel styles including crop hoodies and tees were designed to pay homage to thedropLA@barneys, as the “LA” within FILA’s linear logo is outlined in silver hues.

MEN'S
 
The updated menswear collection consists of tanks, tees, long-sleeve shirts, shorts, half-zip tops, jackets, hoodies, and pants. Design elements like archival stripes appear throughout the line, where FILA’s signature red, white and navy hues are accented with pops of sparkle knit detailing in gold. Pieces like the mesh tank, half-zip top and hoody pay homage to Biella, Italy, where the company was founded in 1911. The FILA XO Barneys New York men’s collection retails from $65 to $205.

Following the success of the inaugural event, Barneys New York hosted a second thedrop@barneys at the Beverly Hills flagship. Tapping into the young cultural scene of LA, The Drop was reinterpreted and reimagined to capture key Los Angeles institutions. The weekend included experiential installations, more than 20 exclusive capsule collections, 90-plus brands, designer appearances, and a surprise musical performance. thedropLA@barneys also featured the “Sliced by FILA” pizza parlor, with new merchandise as well as complimentary pizza and other Italian favorites.
