(FILA Global) - FILA, the Official Apparel and Footwear Supplier of Tennis Canada, will outfit the ball persons, officials, staff and volunteers at this year’s Rogers Cup in Toronto and Coupe Rogers in Montreal. The tournament, which is one of the longest running in the sport, is comprised of an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Event in Toronto and a simultaneous WTA Premier 5 Event in Montreal.
“We are thrilled to outfit the Rogers Cup and Coupe Rogers ball persons, volunteers, and officials in custom uniforms once again this year,” said FILA’s Design Director, Ro Gilbert. “While the color palette is distinctly Canadian, the design and style of all three tournament uniform collections are consistent with other 2018 North American FILA sponsored events.”
The on-court attire for the ball persons was designed in a red, black and white color palette that is synonymous with Tennis Canada. The ball girl dress, which features a subtle v-neck with a drop waist a-line silhouette, is paired with red ball shorts with the Tennis Canada maple leaf logo on the right hip. The ball boys crew features black and red colorblock detailing that echoes the design of the ball girl dress. A matching full-zip jacket features the same colorblocking technique, and rib detailing on the cuffs and bottom. The entire ball crew will wear FILA’s new Axilus Energized performance tennis shoe.
For a cohesive on-court statement, officials will be dressed in the same colorway as the ball persons, wearing a red polo shirt with a black collar. To complement their apparel, male officials in Toronto will wear the FILA x Rogers Cup Original Tennis 2.0 Limited Edition shoe, only available at the Sporting Life shop onsite at the tournament. All other officials will wear the Axilus Energized footwear.
The uniform collection for the event staff and volunteers will include ladies’ v-neck shirts, as well as men’s crew and polo shirts in a legend blue, navy and white colorway. The shirts will be complemented with a white full zip jacket. Design details include navy and blue piping on the jacket and a navy collar and navy half chest stripe on each of the polo shirts. All items feature the FILA, Rogers Cup, Coupe Rogers, and Tennis Canada logos.
Replica Rogers Cup and Coupe Rogers uniform collections will be available exclusively at FILA x Sporting Life in Toronto and at Tenniszon in Montreal.
“One of our 2018 goals was to expand the retail footprint onsite at Rogers Cup,” said Rob Swann, Tennis Canada’s Vice President - Chief Commercial Officer. “It was wonderful to work with FILA and Sporting Life to accomplish that goal and I believe that tennis fans will love the new FILA x Tennis Canada x Sporting Life concept shop, located near the main entrance of the Aviva Center.”
During Rogers Cup and Coupe Rogers, FILA is introducing a new Tennis Canada x FILA licensed apparel collection which will be sold onsite in both Toronto and Montreal. The collection, which consists of performance shirts, hoodies, layering pieces and more, will all feature Tennis Canada marks and embellishments. The Tennis Canada x FILA collection will be sold onsite at the FILA x Tennis Canada x Sporting Life concept shop in Toronto and Tenniszon in Montreal during the event, and will also available on the tenniscanada.com eCommerce store after the tournament.
