(FILA Luxembourg S.à r.l.) - FILA sponsored tennis player Kiki Bertens capped off another dominating week on tour by securing her second consecutive St. Petersburg Ladies’ Title, overcoming Elena Rybakina 6-1, 6-3 in Sunday’s final.
Berten’s dropped just one set all week and tallied impressive victories over Russians Veronika Kudermetova, Anastasia Potapova and Ekaterina Alexandrova en route to her tenth career singles title.
"To defend your title, it's always something special. You come with such great memories, and if it happens where you have a beautiful trophy again, I'm more than happy," Bertens told reporters after the match.
On the ATP Tour, FILA Argentina sponsored tennis player Horacio Zeballos found the winner’s circle in his home country, securing the Argentina Open doubles title with partner Marcel Granollers. The top-seeded duo knocked off the Argentine pairing of Juan Ignacio Londero and fellow FILA Argentina sponsored Guillermo Duran in an epic third set tiebreak 6-4, 5-7, 18-16.
The title is Zeballos’ 14th career tour-level championship and second alongside Granollers (Indian Wells, 2019).
At the New York Open, FILA success continued as sponsored tennis players Andreas Seppi (singles) and Reilly Opelka (doubles) also reached finals.
