(FILA UK, FILA North America) - Back in 1979, FILA outfitted legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner on his record-breaking ascent of K2, the world’s second highest mountain, a feat he completed without additional oxygen. He affectionately dubbed the route he took to the summit as the "Magic Line." To honor this incredible feat, FILA released an exclusive Italian collection of eye popping ski wear in 1988, also named the "Magic Line."
Thirty years later, after the range had been housed in the depths of FILA’s archive, the iconic sportstyle brand has re-imagined it with the help of Ollie Evans of cult vintage retailer, Too Hot. Ollie has spent countless time on his buying trips in dusty warehouses across Italy, discovering amazing archive and vintage pieces alike.
Inspired by the vibrant colours and psychedelic patterns of the original collections, the FILA design team worked closely with Ollie to create a Magic Line capsule collection based around pieces plucked from his archive and updated to suit modern tastes.
The collection launches this November 22nd on http://www.fila.co.uk/ and at select retailers across Europe. It will also be available in the US at American Rag and online at americanrag.com and fila.com beginning on November 28th.
