Upon arrival guests mingled and enjoyed Peroni beer, passed hors d’oeuvres and wine as they admired the Limited Edition Axilus Energized Pro 1, women’s Heritage and men’s Legends collections on display. Members of the media were given a rare opportunity to speak with athletes in a more casual setting.
The short program, which was led by tennis broadcast personality Nick McCarvel, began when all eleven athletes in attendance squeezed together for a FILA tennis family photo. McCarvel then introduced FILA’s Chief Operating Officer, Jennifer Estabrook, who recognized Martin Mulligan and his long career with the brand. For the majority of the program, McCarvel introduced and engaged with each of the eleven athletes in attendance. The overall setting was intimate, offering those in attendance a rare glimpse into the lives and personalities of the athletes.
“It is really special to have so many of our wonderful FILA tennis athletes in attendance,” said Estabrook. “At FILA we follow each of their careers, cheer for them on the court and celebrate their successes. Every single one of these athletes is not only here because of their talent on court, but because they are remarkable, special people. They were hand chosen to represent this iconic brand, and we are extraordinarily proud of them.”
