(FILA North America) - FILA has linked up with Barneys New York on an exclusive collection of men’s apparel and footwear. With the new offerings, the brand brings its sportsstyle influence to the luxury specialty retailer.
FILA has dipped into its vast archives to offer a revamp of signature silhouettes. Pieces feature clean lines and classic cuts for a selection of essentials that blend timeless FILA designs with modern sophistication, exclusively for the Barneys New York shopper.
The five-piece menswear collection consists of a half-zip jacket offered in two colorways, a long sleeve jacket, a polo shirt, a short, and a woven pant. Black stands in for navy providing an update to FILA's signature color palette. The fashions feature black, red and white hues and are detailed with elements such as color blocking, contrast color cuffs and pinstripes. The styles are reminiscent of classic FILA favorites and take design cues from the brand’s storied heritage, including 1970’s tennis legends. Prices range from $95 for a polo shirt to $165 for a track jacket.
The Original Tennis XO Barneys New York footwear was created in two colorways that are complementary to the apparel collection. Elements of FILA’s iconic Original Tennis shoe are recognizable, but with a slimmer fit and a sleek, contemporary update. The footwear combines two of the brand’s signature silhouettes, with its Original Tennis upper and T-1 Mid on the midsole/outsole. The shoes were designed in soft premium leather with a smooth grain, a fully lined leather interior and a leather sockliner. Additional features include original perforation on the toe box and a rolled eye row.
The black leather version of the Original Tennis XO Barneys New York shoe is offset with a white outsole and decorated with FILA’s signature flag in red and white hues. The white leather version sports a black outsole and a dual-colored gray and black flag. Both styles are co-branded to feature the FILA logo on the back counter and midsole and the Barneys New York logo on the tongue. Additional FILA XO Barneys New York branding is featured on the shoe’s footbed. The footwear retails for $130.
