Sofia Kenin Laura Siegemund Capture Singles Doubles Titles at Guangzhou
(FILA Luxembourg S.à r.l.) - FILA sponsored tennis player Sofia Kenin secured her third championship of 2019 at the Guangzhou Open in China, defeating Samantha Stosur 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2. In addition, Laura Siegemund ensured a clean sweep for Team FILA, as she won the doubles title at Guangzhou alongside partner Peng Shuai. The duo easily defeated Alexa Guarachi / Giuliana Olmos 6-2, 6-1 in the championship match.

Kenin dispatched Siegemund, Katarina Evatska, Jasmine Paolini and recent WTA 125k New Haven winner Anna Blinkova en route to her fourth final appearance of the year. The win continues the 20-year-old’s breakout year, having won titles at Hobart and Mallorca en route to a current career-high ranking of No. 20.

Kenin has accumulated a long list of impressive victories this year, including two wins over World No. 3 Elina Svitonlina, a win over Serena Williams at the French Open and an upset of World No. 1 Ash Barty.  Kenin also made the semifinals at back-to-back Premier Mandatory events (Toronto, Cincinnati).

For Siegemund, the title is her first of 2019, and seventh of her career (five doubles / two singles).
