(FILA Luxembourg S.à r.l.) - FILA is introducing “Explore,” a new, limited-edition collection of footwear, apparel and accessories for men and women. Debuting today to coincide with the opening of the FILA Explore Pop-Up in SoHo NYC, the Explore collection celebrates the modern explorer, embracing a new generation of seekers at the intersection of sport and style.
FILA’s tradition for adventure is part of the brand’s DNA. In 1978, while dressed in high-tech FILA mountain gear, world-renowned mountaineer, adventurer and explorer Reinhold Messner broke records by reaching the treacherous summit of Mt. Everest without the aid of supplemental oxygen, a feat that is among his remarkable accomplishments in the mountaineering world.
FILA Explore builds upon this legacy, drawing inspiration not only from nature and natural territories, but also from archival ski, hiking, alpine, and trek collections released in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Broken into four distinct categories – Canyon, Woods, Mountains, Elements – Explore will offer a wide range of footwear, apparel and accessories including, sneakers, sandals, windbreakers, tactical pants, t-shirts, walking sticks, hats and more…

FILA EXPLORE COLLECTION
A marriage of form and function, FILA Explore is a lifestyle collection of footwear, apparel and accessories that encourages its wearers to embrace their own adventurous spirit. It is inspired by FILA’s history in mountaineering and influenced by the growing trend in outdoor-wear collections. Design details, colorways and a variety of FILA logo treatments take inspiration from each of the Explore sub-categories and characteristics found in their respective natural environments – a coral/turquoise/white color palette for the ‘Canyon’ collection, purple/teal/black for ‘Woods,’ blue/orange/yellow for ‘Mountain,’ and black/grey/rainbow for ‘Elements.’

THE POP-UP
The Explore Pop-Up shop is designed to take consumers on an Instagram-worthy journey that presents visceral interpretations of each of the Explore Collection categories – guiding them through eco-zones that ascend from Canyon, to Mountains, to Woods and culminating in Elements. Open to the public from July 26th through August 11th at 428 Broadway in SoHo NYC, the space will serve as an interactive atmosphere for style and sneaker savvy shoppers to discover their own sense of adventure and engage with the brand like never before. To spark additional excitement for visitors to the FILA Explore Pop-Up in New York, FILA will host culturally relevant panel discussions with key influencers and offer additional on-site programming activities. Also opening on July 26th, FILA Explore Pop-Up stores can be found in Los Angeles, London, China, Japan, India, and Greece. Korea and Brazil will follow later this summer.
