(FILA Global) – Mike Schloesser’s new world record at last week’s Archery World Cup event in China sets the stage for an exciting 2016 season.

If last week’s events at Shanghai are any indication, the world is in for an exciting and dramatic 2016 Archery World Cup season. And FILA is thrilled to once again have a front row seat to all of the action as it reprises its role as the official apparel sponsor for the World Archery Federation. The championship’s first stage kicked off with an incredible performance by Dutch athlete Mike Schloesser (also known as “Mr. Perfect”), who shot a new world record of 717 points out of a possible 720. Schloesser's incredible performance broke his previous world record by just 1 point and earned him a gold medal at the tournament as well as first prize for precision. The next stage of the competition will be held in Medellín, Colombia.

FILA has been a proud sponsor of the World Archery Federation since 2013. Since then, the brand has played an active role in Federation activities, working closely with other sponsors such as Kia, Turkish Airlines, and Longines to host and promote World Archery events across the globe. Previous sponsorship events have included archery lessons in collaboration with Olympic Champion, Juan Carlos Holgado, who also currently serves as the director of World Archery events. The brand will serve as the federation’s official apparel supplier for all events throughout 2016.
