FILA Sponsored Player Barbora Krejcikova Wins First Indian Wells Doubles Title

(FILA Luxembourg S.à r.l.) - FILA’s roster of sponsored players put together a sensational showing at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, as Barbora Krejcikova captured the title in women’s doubles, while Neal Skupski and Laura Siegemund reached the finals of the men’s and women’s doubles, respectively.

Krejcikova continued to show why she is the No. 2-ranked doubles player in the world, as she and her partner Katerina Siniakova picked up right where they left off after winning their seventh Grand Slam title together at Melbourne earlier this year. The duo cruised through the draw, notching a straight sets victory in three of their four matches coming into the final. They secured their first career Indian Wells victory, defeating Beatriz Haddad Maia and Siegemund in the final 6-1, 6-7(3), 10-7.

“I think it’s a great feeling,” Krejcikova said following the final. “It’s definitely a huge tournament. I mean, it’s called a fifth slam, so it’s definitely one of the tournaments that you want to win. I’m really happy that we were able to do it, because a couple of years ago we were in the final, and it didn’t work out back then. But now it did. It feels great. Definitely this, for us, this tournament is ending right now, but I’m definitely looking forward to coming back here next year and trying to get the title again.”

On the men’s side, No. 1 seeded Neal Skupski and partner Wesley Koolhof fell to Matt Ebden and Rohan Bopanna in a hard-fought final, 3-6, 6-2, 8-10.
