(FILA KOREA) - FILA Korea launches the FILA x Gundam Collaboration collection, available only in Korea beginning on June 23. Also on this date, the launch event will be held at the Lotte Department Store (Busan Main) in Busan, one of the largest cities in Korea.
This collaboration celebrates the 40th anniversary of “Mobile Suit Gundam.” Gundam, a mobile warrior, is an animation that first aired in 1979 and has changed the concept of existing robot animation, which is widely supported by Kidult subculture's icon and loyal mania "Gundam Otaku." FILA reinterpreted "First Gundam" with the brand’s sportstyle spirit. "First Gundam" is the first version of the Gundam Series.
The FILA x Gundam Collaboration is broken into three distinct themes, inspired by different characters from Gundam such as "Mobile Suit Gundam," "E.F.S.F (Earth Federation Space Force)" and "Zeon." The FILA x Gundam collection consists of apparel, footwear and accessories, for a complete head-to-toe look. The collection includes a variety of product offerings such as a graphic T-shirt with Gundam's famous scenes and characters and chunky shoes that combine Gundam's characters and the signature tricolor hues (red, white, blue) symbolizing Gundam. Additionally offered is a hat with velcro detail, custom eco-bag and hip sack.
Nicknamed "Filaboration (FILA+Collaboration)," a variety of collaborations across categories and genres is the talk of the town among the excited fans of Filaboration around the world, as well as "Gundam Otaku" meaning enthusiast for Gundam.
Prior to the official launch, this collaboration has attracted interest through its release via special editorial and video on FILA Korea’s Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channels. Through the images of models walking the streets of Kamiigusa in Japan, the birthplace of Gundam, the editorial showcases this special collaboration between FILA and Gundam. The collection's unique street spirit is applied to the fashion of "Gundam Otaku" and reinterpreted with fresh update.
The FILA X Gundam Collaboration collection will be available exclusively on FILA Korea’s official online store (www.FILA.co.kr) and at 27 select FILA stores in Korea from June 25.
