(FILA Luxembourg S.a.r.L.) FILA is thrilled to announce that tennis legend Adriano Panatta will once again be a FILA Global Ambassador. This agreement will last until 2026.
FILA first put the spotlight on Panatta during the most successful period of his career. In 1976, he won the Davis Cup and the Internazionali di Roma. In addition, he went on to win ten major single tournaments and 18 doubles. Symbolically, he also beat Björn Borg, another FILA ambassador of the Golden Age of Tennis
On Saturday 14th of October In Treviso, Italy, FILA and Panatta will again shine together at the inauguration of Adriano Panatta Racquet Club’s new pickleball courts.
At the event, FILA will present a re-edition of the famous jersey worn by Panatta and the “Azzurri” team in the 1976 Davis Cup final in Chile, where Italy defeated Chile 4-1.
This famous red kit symbolised Panatta's opposition to Augusto Pinochet’s regime, which ruled over Chile at the time. Even today, it remains rare to see sport and political activism embodied in a single moment.
Treviso will witness the reunion of a historic pair of tennis greats - Adriano Panatta and Paolo Bertolucci, who will play the pickleball courts together.
This match will mark the inauguration of the centre's new courts and promises to be a thrilling pickleball showdown.
